Shard End - Operation Skybridge Deployment |
||
|
Good afternoon Residents,
You may have seen an increased police presence in Shard End the last few days. This is because on Monday 12th January, Operation Skybridge deployed to the area.
Working a mixture of shifts, including early mornings and throughout the night, they will provide a presence lasting several weeks. The deployment will compromise of both reassurance and deterrence patrols, as well as pro-actively seeking out those intent on causing harm to your community by utilising uniformed and plain clothed officers.
The team are information and intelligence led and will deploy across Shard End with this is mind, adapting as required. Drawing on an extensive skillset and a large amount of kit and equipment, the team will work closely with your dedicated local neighbourhood teams to target serious and acquisitive crimes such as Burglary, Robbery and Vehicle crime.
What can you do? Ensure that all valuables are removed from vehicles, including anything that may look valuable. Consider using steering locks and signal blocking key pouches. Make sure that all windows & doors are locked on your property. Consider installing CCTV cameras, security lights, video doorbells and alarm systems - All of which can make your property less attractive to criminals. As the cold weather lingers, DO NOT leave cars running unattended, even for a second. Be aware of your surroundings and trust your instinct.
If you have any information or intelligence relating to the above offence types that you believe may be useful to the team, please contact them directly via email at: Opskybridge@westmidlands.police.uk (Do not use to report crime).
As always, you can approach an officer out on the street, even if it’s just to say hello!
ALWAYS DIAL 999 IN AN EMERGENCY
We hope to see you soon!
Kind regards, The Operation Skybridge Team. | ||
